US President Donald Trump says he’s written to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, requesting new talks on Tehran’s nuclear programme, seven years after withdrawing the US from the 2016 deal. Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi says it’s unlikely Tehran will accept the invitation, due to the Trump administration’s maximum pressure approach to international diplomacy.
