Chinese martial arts, a rich and enduring part of China’s cultural heritage, are now presented as a way to connect global audiences with the country’s diverse traditions.

"China Cultural Passport" intertwines various martial arts styles with regional landscapes, historical sites and culinary traditions, offering viewers a sensory journey across China. These martial arts include Shaolin Kung Fu, Emei martial arts, Wudang Kung Fu and Meishan martial arts.

The journey begins in Hubei Province, the birthplace of Wudang Kung Fu, a Taoist-inspired martial art, where the serene peaks of the Wudang Mountains are paired with local delicacies like Wuchang fish and lotus root soup. Neighboring Hunan Province offers a contrast between the dramatic karst landscapes of Wulingyuan and the bold flavors of stinky tofu and spicy crayfish. For the segment of Sichuan Province, it ascends Mount Emei, a sacred Buddhist site and the origin of Emei martial arts, while the region’s culinary scene is highlighted by the fiery Malatang (Spicy Hot Pot).

Henan Province captivates with Shaolin Temple’s martial legacy alongside the sculptural grandeur of Longmen Grottoes, paired with local dishes like braised noodles and hot pepper soup. Beijing, meanwhile, showcases imperial landmarks such as the Temple of Heaven, complemented by traditional snacks like Lyudagun (glutinous rice rolls stuffed with red bean paste).
