The 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin bring together athletes, spectators and media from all over Asia and beyond. Volunteers play an important role in ensuring everything runs smoothly. They bridge language gaps and make sure everyone feels comfortable. Wang Yi, an Arabic language student from Beijing International Studies University, serves as an IBC Rights-Holding Broadcaster Service Assistant during the Games, and has gone above and beyond her duties by helping Saudi Arabians use mobile apps to order food and recommending local halal restaurants. The Saudi Arabian friends shared some dates and perfume with her as tokens of their appreciation.
