Students in Bangladesh, who spearheaded last year’s protests against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, have formed a new political party. The protests erupted in July after the Supreme Court reduced quotas that reserved a third of government jobs for descendants of 1971 War Veterans. The unrest led to a violent crackdown by security forces, resulting in at least 300 deaths. Sheikh Hasina later fled the country.
