Tensions are flaring ahead of a meeting of one of Turkiye’s opposition parties after the arrest of its presidential candidate. Istanbul’s mayor Ekrem Imamoglu was jailed on charges of corruption, sparking protests. Next month, the CHP will convene to vote for a new party leader and there appears to be a growing rift between his supporters and others in the party.
