Protests have erupted across Turkiye following the arrest of Istanbul’s opposition mayor, intensifying on Wednesday with a new form of resistance: a one-day shopping boycott. Organized primarily by student groups, the boycott called on consumers to refrain from any commercial activity and urged businesses to shut their doors in solidarity.
