Thousands of orphaned children in Gaza face a sorrowful Eid amid ongoing conflict, with many grieving lost parents and enduring dire living conditions. Ahmed Khalil, a 10-year-old boy, recounts how Israeli soldiers destroyed his home, killed his family, and left him and his sister starving in a shelter. His grandmother, Rayqa Khalil, explains that the children’s entire family, including a 10-month-old baby, was massacred while they slept in a school shelter. Ahmed, who was shot in the shoulder, now spends his days searching for food and water instead of celebrating Eid as he once did.
