Would anyone really go as far as to cut a single regulation that could’ve saved 6,400 lives? The answer is yes. A Guardian analysis finds that 31 regulations that will be withdrawn by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency could have saved nearly 200,000 lives in total over the next few years. "Environment for money" has become the ideology of today’s American government. With extreme weather becoming ever more pervasive, these rollbacks will only worsen environmental degradation. U.S. officials may believe that sacrificing the environment can boost economic growth, but they are putting Americans in greater long-term danger.
