The 2025 Zhongguancun Forum, China’s flagship platform for global tech collaboration, kicked off on Thursday morning in Beijing. At the opening ceremony, China made it clear that it aims to further open up while deeply implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development. A series of technological breakthroughs have been announced, including one in gene therapy that can help treat the blind. China’s "Meng Xiang" drilling vessel has been put into service. In Beijing’s Huairou District, the country’s High Energy Photon Source has emitted the first SR light. CGTN reporter Liu Jiaxin has the latest on what’s new this year.
