In Huanggang Village, nestled in Guizhou’s Qiandongnan prefecture, the Dong ethnic youths are passionate about singing. As evening descends, the men’s choir will gather at a pavilion on a hill, basking in the warm glow of the setting sun and singing their hearts out. The Kam Grand Choirs, as these Dong singers are known, celebrate nature, work, joy and community. Through their melodies, these young villagers express their innermost feelings and emotions, sharing their joy and enthusiasm through the timeless tradition of song.
