In a gesture of friendship, ophthalmologists from the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center at Sun Yat-sen University not only provided him with specialized treatment free of charge but also offered structured training programs for local healthcare workers, complemented by opportunities for advanced medical training in China. This initiative aims to establish sustainable ophthalmic care capabilities in the island nation by cultivating local medical expertise.
