The worst wildfires in South Korea’s history have been burning since March 21, 2025. Thirty people have been killed and a further 45 injured, while more than 3,500 houses and 30 national heritage sites have been damaged. The fires have so far spread across over 48,000 hectares, according to ROK Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
