U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing a 25 percent tariff on all imported cars and select auto parts, effective April 2. The move has rattled the global auto industry and sparked backlash from key U.S. allies like Canada. In a related decision, Trump also raised tariffs on steel and aluminum to a flat 25 percent, revoking exemptions for Canada, a major supplier.
