Tulou, or earth buildings, in Yongding are some of the most representative buildings of their kind in southeast China’s Fujian Province. These grand and uniquely structured ancient Chinese buildings have a long history. They are not only a special cultural symbol of the ethnic Hakka people but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. Notably, these wonderful architectures inspired Mulan’s hometown in Disney’s 2020 film of the same name.
