A press conference at the White House, scheduled for Friday, where U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy were set to sign the U.S.-Ukraine minerals deal, was canceled following a tense shouting match between the two in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, D.C., on February 28, 2025.
CGTN Stringer hit the streets of Kyiv, Ukraine, to get the locals’ perspective. A Kyiv resident, Oleksandr Portian, said he agreed with Zelenskyy’s stance at this press conference, adding that many Ukrainians have lost their homes and lives in the war. "If Trump wants to be a guy who stops the war, he should listen to our president and understand the situation we are in," Oleksandr said.
