A Kerala resident, Thomas Pereira, was shot dead by Jordanian forces while allegedly attempting to enter Israel illegally. The Indian embassy has confirmed the incident and is working to repatriate his remains. Pereira had travelled to Jordan on a tourist visa with his brother-in-law, intending to obtain an Israeli visa.
