Thomas Perera, a Kerala resident, was fatally shot by Jordanian security forces while attempting to illegally enter Israel from Jordan. His relative, Edison, was injured in the incident. The pair had failed to obtain Israeli visas and sought to cross the border with a guide’s assistance. The Indian embassy is working to repatriate Perera’s remains.
