Rania Rao, daughter of DGP rank officer Ramachandra Rao, was arrested at Bengaluru airport for smuggling gold worth 12 crores. She visited Dubai 30 times in 2024, using modified clothing to conceal gold bars. DRI is investigating potential involvement of her father and husband. Rania allegedly earned 1 lakh per kilo of smuggled gold, with seizures up to 17 crores made from her residence.
