Pyongyang fires ballistic missiles as US, South Korea hold annual joint military drills
North Korea has fired multiple ballistic missiles, just hours after condemning joint drills by South Korea and the US. Pyongyang had earlier called the annual Freedom Shield military exercise a "dangerous provocative act", adding that a single accidental shot could spark a confrontation in the region. The North sees joint drills between the two allies as a prelude to an invasion and has a track record of staging weapons tests in response. The ongoing 11-day Freedom Shield is the first major drill between the two allies since US President Donald Trump took office. Lim Yun Suk reports.
