‘No confidence in this’: Analyst on lasting peace in Ukraine after US truce proposal
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday (Mar 11) hailed a ceasefire plan by the United States as positive, after talks between both sides in Saudi Arabia. Lincoln Mitchell, lecturer at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, says he is not confident about lasting peace in Ukraine. He also tells CNA’s Asia First how US President Donald Trump could react if Russian President Vladmir Putin rejects the proposed ceasefire.
