Join "Opera Trails" on a journey into the world of Sichuan Opera, a 300-year-old art form known for its wisdom and resilience. At Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theater, we had the privilege of speaking with Shen Tiemei, vice chairwoman of the China Theatre Association and director of the theater. She shared her insights into the spirit of Sichuan Opera and its ongoing evolution. At the same time, a new generation of post-2000s actors is breathing youthful energy into this traditional art. Young actress Wan Yuehan expressed her deep admiration for the tenacity and perseverance of Sichuan Opera performers, values that have strengthened her passion for the craft. Currently, the young artists are rehearsing a youthful adaptation of "The Legend of the White Snake," where the determination of "The White Snake" mirrors the optimism and resilience of the people of Sichuan and Chongqing.
