Singapore stands ready to deliver more assistance for quake-hit Myanmar: FM Vivian Balakrishnan
Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan on Sunday (Mar 30) released a video statement, saying Singapore stands ready to deliver further tranches of humanitarian assistance to earthquake-hit Myanmar over the next dew days. He called for an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the delivery of aid.
He announced that the government will contribute S$150,000 to support the Singapore Red Cross’ fundraising efforts for quake victims. "I know Singaporeans feel deep compassion for the people in Myanmar … And I’m sure Singaporeans out of the deep compassion of our hearts will donate generously," he said.
