Behind the scenes: How SMRT keeps the train system running
Nearly 4,000 rail workers in Singapore have completed training to help ensure smoother train operations. They have learnt to anticipate and prevent faults that could cause disruptions, through the Rail Manpower Development Incentive. But disruptions can still occur, like the one last September on parts of the East West Line that lasted six days. While workers say these incidents can be demoralising, they are still pushing forward. Claudia Lim explores what happens behind the scenes.
