Continued US aid a ‘crucial lifeline’ for Ukraine: Analyst
The United States said talks with Ukraine are back on track to secure a ceasefire with Russia. Negotiators from Washington and Kyiv will meet in Saudi Arabia next week to discuss deals to bring an end to the three-year conflict. Olena Lennon, an adjunct national security professor at the University of New Haven, says the suspension of US military aid to Kyiv has upended a crucial lifeline for Ukraine’s military and civilians. She tells CNA’s Asia First that while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signalled readiness to make concessions, security guarantees must still be on the table before Kyiv can agree to any reasonable peace deal.
