Is the €800b ReArm Europe defence plan workable? An analyst weighs in
European leaders are working to end the war in Ukraine as they meet for emergency talks in Brussels on Thursday (Mar 6). They want to include security guarantees for Kyiv. But without backing by the United States, there are concerns Europe will not be able to do so. They are also set to discuss the ReArm Europe proposal – an 800 billion euro (US$840 billion) financing effort to boost defence capabilities in the bloc.
