Minister K Shanmugam on former NMP Calvin Cheng’s post on Israel-Palestine
Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam said his views on Israel and Palestine are "very sharply different" from those of former Nominated Member of Parliament Calvin Cheng. Mr Cheng had posted on Facebook about "sponsoring" members of a group called Monday of Palestine Solidarity to "relocate to Gaza, expenses paid by me. But only if they never come back". While speaking to reporters on Wednesday (Apr 2), Mr Shanmugam was asked about Mr Cheng’s post. In response, Mr Shanmugam also reiterated his position – which he had expressed in November 2023 – that "Israel’s actions are illegal and oppressive to Palestinians, and that remains my view”. #sgnews #singapore
