New mosques to be built in Tengah and Tampines North
Two new mosques will be built in Singapore in the coming years. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced this as he joined around 1,000 Muslims in breaking their fast during Ramadan. One will be built in Tengah town. MUIS is working on identifying a suitable site for the mosque, and details will be released at a later date. The other mosque will be built at Tampines North Drive 5. It was first announced in 2015, but plans were halted due to COVID-19 in 2021. Now plans will resume, with construction beginning in 2027.
