New Online Safety Commission will allow victims to seek remedies quicker: Support centres
Support centres for victims of online harm say a new government agency for online safety will allow people to seek remedies and identify the perpetrators for legal recourse quicker. The Online Safety Commission will be set up in 2026. Support centres have helped 158 victims in 2024, up from 99 the year before. Many perpetrators are hiding behind fake identities and bogus accounts. Kate Low reports.
