Not many private property owners expected to take up Silver Housing Bonus: Analysts
Only a small group of senior private property owners are expected to take up the Silver Housing Bonus, which will give them cash for downsizing. The government has extended the scheme to those who own private properties with an annual value of between S$21,000 and S$31,000, which means an additional 15,000 seniors now qualify. According to analysts, the bonus of up to S$20,000 may not be attractive to some. Still, they said, as seniors’ savings deplete, more of them may take up the scheme in the future.
