Singapore Civil Defence Force helps free man trapped for nearly 48 hours after Myanmar earthquake
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) contingent in Myanmar assisting in earthquake search and rescue operations worked with local rescuers to help free a man trapped underneath concrete slabs in a three-storey residential building in Zebuthiri Township in Naypyidaw.
The building had partially collapsed after the 7.7-magnitude quake on Friday (Mar 28).
The man was brought out after a joint 8-hour operation on Sunday, nearly 2 days after the quake struck.
The SCDF officers are part of 80-member Operation Lionheart rescue team who arrived in Myanmar on Saturday.
