Singapore Constitution provides for NMPs to join political parties after stepping down: Shanmugam
Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam says the Singapore Constitution "expressly provides" for a Nominated Member of Parliament to join a political party after stepping down from the position. His comments come after NMPs Raj Joshua Thomas and Syed Harun Alhabsyi quit their roles last month – fuelling speculation that they will run for the upcoming General Election.
