South Korea ramps up security ahead of President Yoon’s impeachment ruling on Friday
Tensions running high in South Korea, ahead of the Constitutional Court’s ruling on the full impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol on Friday. Acting President Han Duck-soo has called on the nation to calmly accept the court’s decision. The police are on high alert, as large-scale rallies for and against the impeachment of Mr Yoon are set to be held near the Constitutional Court. Tourist attractions and schools in the area will be closed. Some 14,000 officers are expected to be deployed in Seoul on the day of the ruling. Lim Yun Suk reports.
