Thai engineering prof on construction safety in Bangkok after skyscraper collapse
The Thai government will release the findings from an official probe this week, after launching an investigation into the office tower that collapsed during last Friday’s earthquake. The skyscraper was the only building that crumbled in Thailand. An anti-corruption watchdog had previously flagged irregularities about the building. Natt Leelawat, associate professor of industrial engineering at Chulalongkorn University, discusses Thailand’s building code and earthquake readiness on CNA’s Asia Now.
