Trump’s tariffs could help revitalise the economy: Analyst
Fears have been growing of a global trade war after United States President Donald Trump announced sweeping tariffs last week, causing markets to swing wildly. Trump also threatened further tariffs against China, on top of the levies he has already previously imposed. William Lee, chief economist at the Milken Institute, likened the use of tariffs as "rat poison" that in the hands of cardiologists could cure the ills at the heart of global trade. He tells CNA’s Asia First how tariffs are intended as just one of many of Trump’s economic policies.
