UN human rights chief voices concern over ‘fundamental shift’ in US direction
UN human rights chief Volker Türk has voiced deep concerns for hostilities happening across the globe, including a "fundamental shift in direction" of the US. He expressed concern over a peace deal in the Russia-Ukraine war that did not involve Kyiv. The use of weapons in the West Bank was also a topic of concern, with the rights chief calling for a halt to threats of annexation. And without naming Donald Trump, Mr Türk voiced a strong rebuke of policies launched by a new administration in the US, while decrying the unchecked power of unelected tech oligarchs.
