What led Israel to resume attacks in Gaza after two months of ceasefire?
Israel has widened its offensive on Gaza as it resumes ground operations across the enclave. The Israeli military also kept up airstrikes, which began earlier this week, despite calls from global leaders to preserve the ceasefire that began in January. Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a “last warning” to Gazans, telling them to return hostages and remove Hamas from power, or face complete destruction. Daniel Levy, a former Israeli negotiator who is currently president of independent policy institute the US/Middle East Project, shares his insights with CNA’s Asia First.
