A special court in Nalgonda has awarded the death penalty to one accused and life imprisonment to six others in the 2018 honour killing case of Pranay, a Dalit man. Pranay was hacked to death with a machete for marrying a woman from a forward caste against her family’s wishes. The main accused, the victim’s father-in-law, had died by suicide earlier.
