Maharashtra Budget: No Hike For Ladki Behen Scheme, Funds Slashed By 10,000 Crore Rupees
The Maharashtra government’s budget for 2025-26 maintains the Ladki Behen scheme’s monthly payout at 1,500 rupees, contrary to expectations of an increase to 2,100 rupees. The scheme’s funds have been reduced by 10,000 crore rupees from the previous allocation of 46,000 crore rupees. The Women and Child Welfare Minister stated that while the government remains committed to increasing the payout, it will not happen in this year’s budget.
