The actress gets sprayed by a special effects device on the NYC streets, which fans of Colleen Hoover’s 2018 novel will recognize as the moment her character, ghost writer Lowen Ashleigh, has a gruesome meet-cute with Josh’s Jeremy Crawford. The Michael Showalter-directed adaptation also stars Anne Hathaway as the titular Verity Crawford, a famous author with an unfinished novel that Lowen is hired to complete under mysterious circumstances.
