China’s upgraded Jiaolong submersible set a new dive frequency record in its first test mission after a major upgrade, completing 14 dives in 10 days, including four instances of two dives in a single day. The tests confirmed the reliability of new domestic components, enhancing Jiaolong’s operational capabilities. The submersible is expected to exceed 80 dives in 2025.
