World markets are flexible and resilient enough to weather rising trade barriers like tariffs, Nobel laureate Michael Spence said in a recent interview with CGTN’s Tian Wei. Tariffs may shift economic activity, especially with U.S. neighboring trade partners like Mexico, Spence said. However, with stronger economies and diverse trade partners, nations like China are more resilient, navigating protectionist policies from a position of strength, he added.
