The Spring Festival marks the celebration of the Chinese New Year and is one of the most important festivals in China and around the world. In December last year, UNESCO added the Spring Festival and its social practices for celebrating the traditional New Year to the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. To celebrate this achievement, the Chinese Traditional Culture Museum in Beijing is currently showing a special exhibition called "Guo Nian: Exhibition of the Spring Festival." Let’s learn more about this special event and the craftspeople in China who carry on ancient cultural craft-making.
Guests in this Dialogue Spring Festival special program are Meng Xiaoxue, director of the Academic Research Department at the Chinese Traditional Culture Museum; Chen Daoyong, a cultural inheritor of dough figurine craft; Di Baoguo, a cultural inheritor of traditional Chinese ink impressions; Flora Liu, founder of the Joyview Education; and Einar Tangen, senior fellow at the Taihe Institute.
